Welcome to Natural Resources!
Do you enjoy being outdoors? Do you value the quiet of nature? Are you curious about the wild world around you? Then Natural Resources is the CTE program for you!


Our school offers four levels of Natural Resources. A wheel class for 8th grade students, an Introduction class for new students, a Concentrator class for the second year student and a Capstone class for third year students. 

  • Natural Resources Wheel for 8th graders includes nature, mapping, geocaching, vertibrate & invertebrate animal science, meteorology and physical fitness.
  • Introduction to Natural Resources includes exploration, orienteering, first aid, geology, gardening, fish & wildlife management, astronomy, oceanography and physical fitness.
  • Natural Resources Concentrator includes plant science, forestry, pulp & paper, pioneering, outdoor safety & life saving, fire safety, knot tying, camping, archeology, Indian Lore, genealogy and physical fitness.
  • Natural Resources Capstone includes ecology, environmental science, sustainability, soil & water management & conservation, emergency preparedness, wilderness survival, search & rescue, backpacking, careers in natural resources, entrepreneurship, communication, personal management, disability awareness, citizenship and physical fitness.

All levels offer field trips exploring these topics, visiting speakers, hikes and outdoor activities. And best of all, articulation to Yuba College towards a Natural Resources Certificate can be achieved to help with career choices.
