My name is Tamara Graham, but I go by Tammy. I’ve been teaching for over 38 years. I’ve always loved school and learning, which probably comes from being a teacher’s child. I loved school enough that I decided I wanted to teach way back in fourth grade! I feel privileged to be able to work in my dream job. I’ve been here at Charter since 2004.

I enjoy helping students get the basics of reading and writing. I really feel that once you get the basics you can do anything at all. All the information in the world is just sitting there waiting for you to be able to access it - which is where the reading and writing come in. 

Over the years in school both as a teacher and a student, I have experienced a few things.  Like getting in trouble at school for talking back to teachers, and needing math tutors in high school and college. I learned the hard way that I needed to study. At this time in my career, I’ve taught almost all subjects in all grade levels, from kindergarten to high school senior. 

Here’s a little personal information about me:

• I’m a big chocoholic. All bribes gladly accepted, with no results however!
• I’ve been married over 40 years to the same wonderful man.
• I have two awesome kids.
• I’ve been a community volunteer since I was in high school - 4H leader, Boy Scouts of America leader,
•  Special Olympics coach, high school sports coach
• I’m a Yuba College and CSU Chico graduate.
• I’m a lover of good books. I read every single day!
• I’m short and tend to be sassy. 
• I grew up hunting, fishing, and camping.
• I really enjoy art and crafts.
